Do you learn math through 'brainwashing'? Wouldn't you think someone a total idiot to say: only those who were brainwashed as children believe in math? Some things are easy to understand, others difficult. Most find math difficult. It takes years, and years of training and practice to master math concepts. I believe faith is also difficult - understanding the nature of why we are here - what is important. It takes years of learning and practice to assemble the knowledge and experience to allow you to master the concepts, the history, the understanding, peace, and faith. To one totally unschooled in math the concepts must look like so much brainwashing. Perhaps it is the same with faith. If you understand little about it, it is probably easier just to put it down, and to put down those who have spent years mastering it. We can see two things: Those who understand math, like those with faith, typically have better outcomes in their lives than those who do not have these blessings.
